On Tuesday 17 July Kimberley governors will attend a special governing body meeting where they will take the final decision on whether to go ahead with plans to convert the school to an academy from September 2012.
The NUT branch at the school has taken 8 days of strike action to oppose the conversion. Parents involved in the Save Kimberley from Academy Campaign and the Notts-wide Hands Off Our Schools Campaign also oppose the move. They will be demonstrating their opposition to the plans to take Kimberley out of the local authority family of schools and “go it alone” as an academy.
